Meghann shares her path from a $24,000-a-year job at a New York beauty magazine to a marketing role at an investment firm, where she started investing on a $42,000 salary and stayed the course through the 2008 financial crisis. After a layoff in 2018, she took a year off to travel, and came home to find her investments had grown by about $150,000 while she was away.
